With great sadness the family of Alice I. LaChance announces her passing on August 12, 2022 at the Alice Center, Malone, NY. The daughter of the late Arthur and Mina Cox Goyea, she was born March 11, 1929 in North Bangor, NY. She was 93.
Alice had many hobbies including quilting, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Franklin County Home Bureau and the Brass Thimble Quilters where she shared her love of crafting with others. In her spare time she kept busy puzzling, reading, berry picking, baking and traveling. She was always up for a “leaf ride” or a “bear hunt,” especially if it included a stop for ice cream. Most of all Alice loved spending time with her family.
Alice was a dedicated professional. After graduating high school at age 16 she studied to become a Registered Nurse at The A. Barton Hepburn Hospital and Nursing School in Ogdensburg. She lived and worked in New York City before returning to the North Country to continue her career. She retired from Alice Hyde Hospital where she was a head nurse in the ICU for many years.
