Alma Curran

Alma R. Curran of Liberty, NY, a retired Supervisor for the NY Telephone Company, Liberty, NY and a lifelong area resident died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 88.

The daughter of the late Herman and Elsa Hillig Bressler, she was born March 31, 1926 in Liberty, NY.

Alma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Liberty, NY; a member of the Pioneers Club with the NY Telephone Company; and she enjoyed golfing and crocheting.

Survivors include one sister, Edna York and her husband Wayne of Liberty, NY; one brother, Otto Bressler of Liberty, NY; one brother-in-law, Jack Sherwood of Livingston Manor, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Alma was predeceased by one brother, Herman Bressler and his wife Mildred; six sisters, Elsie Kelly and her husband William; Olga Fritz and her husband Carlton, Marguerite Rupert, Helen Sherwood, Irmgard Starr and her husband Henry; and Gretel McCausland and her husband Elwood.

Visitation will be Monday (today) December 1, 2014 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 2, 2015 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate.

Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Cold Spring Rd., Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Alma's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
