Ana Velazquez

Ana Velazquez of Liberty, NY, a retired Registered Nurse and a longtime area resident, died Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 87.

The daughter of the late Triburcio and Juana Velazquez Velazquez, she was born April 16, 1937 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico.

Survivors include three sons, Heriberto Martinez Velazquez and his wife Wanda of Phillipsburg, NJ, David Martinez Velazquez and his wife Ivelisse of Puerto Rico and Harry Jose Martinez Velazquez and his wife Karina of Texas; her grandchildren, Tania Martinez Hernandez, Odalys Martinez, David Martinez and Samuel Martinez; five great grandchildren, Erick, Edwin, Edniel, Dariel and Amira. She was predeceased by her husband, Heriberto Martinez Castro.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 12 - 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 2 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Rafael Gonzalez will officiate.

Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.

Burial of her cremains will be with her husband in the National Veterans Cemetery in Puerto Rico.
