Ann M. Foster Powers of Grahamsville, NY, a retired Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Neversink and a long time area resident, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 20, 2018. She was 73.
Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 15, 1944 to the late William and Rita McDermott Von Toussaint.
Her entire life was focused on her family and she spread the love she had for them in everything she did. They in return, showed how much they loved her and made her very happy being there for her all the time. Ann worked her entire life to help provide for her family. She started in the work force at the tender age of 17 and never stopped. Ann was Deputy Town Clerk and Secretary for the Planning, Zoning, and Youth Commission Boards for the Town of Neversink for almost twenty years before retiring. She also worked for many years with her husband John in the construction business after retirement.
Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Michael (Tina) Foster and James (Christine) Foster; step daughter, Connie (Duke) Duquette; her grandchildren, Michael James Foster, James Raymond Foster, Heather Foster, Kayla Scannell Connolly (James), and Samantha Duquette; and her great grandson, Marshal; precious nieces and nephews, Tom and Laura Von Toussaint, William Von Toussaint, Linda Von Toussaint DelVecchio (John), Vikki Von Toussaint Lotz (Robert), Ellie Von Toussaint Scatorchia (Danny); her cousin, Jackie Popaduik Scappatici (Al); sisters-in-law, Sara Von Toussaint and Ellen Von Toussaint DiMaria (Joseph); and Kitty, Cindy, Tom and Gregson McKenna who Ann considered her extended family.
She was predeceased by her husbands, James R. Foster and John P. Powers; her parents, William and Rita McDermott Von Toussaint; brothers, Thomas Von Toussaint, William Von Toussaint; sister, Joan Von Toussaint Genoski (Richie).
Visitation will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 3 to 6 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
A memorial celebration in her honor will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 6 PM. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
Her wish is to celebrate her life not her death, so eat, drink and be merry!
