Ann Galvin

Ann W. Galvin of Liberty, NY, a retired registered nurse for Achieve Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY and a long time area resident, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. She was 64.

The daughter of the late John F. and Eleanor Collins White, she was born September 1, 1946 in New London, CT.

Ann was a member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and a member of the New York State Nurses Association. She enjoyed traveling. In a family statement it was said that "Ann will be remembered as the person who loved to teach people how to eat M&M's and ice cream."

Survivors include her husband, Raymond G. Galvin at home; one son, Raymond Plumlee and his wife Merrill of Stony Point, NY; four daughters, Beth Ann Smith of Florida, Kathy Ruprecht of Jackson, NJ, Maureen Zadzielski and her husband Tony of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, and Gerri Carney and her husband Sean of Lenoir, NC; two brothers, Robert C. White and his wife Carole of New Hampshire and John F. White, Jr. and his wife Raywyn of Australia; her God Mother, Alice Macintosh of Providence, RI; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Noelle, Don, Shannon, Chrissy, Tony, Lindsey, Taylor, Dylan, and Kyra; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, 2011 at 11 AM in the White Sulphur United Methodist Church Route 52, White Sulphur Springs, NY. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Private burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church PO Box 308 White Sulphur Springs, NY 12787 or to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties 800 Stony Brook Court Newburgh, NY 12550.
