Anthony Palestino

Anthony N. Palestino of Monticello, NY, a long time area resident, died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his home.  He was 80.

The son of the late Anello and Rosaria Puma Palestino, he was born June 28, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY.

Anthony retired after 35 years of working with NY Telephone Company and Verizon; he used to have “hot hands” as an amateur Radio Operator, his call number was WA2VCD; he was a member of the Monticello Volunteer Fire Department for many years; and he was a volunteer for many of Sullivan County's local food pantries.

Survivors include his siblings, Dominick Palestino and his wife Sumlee Lamjam of Thailand; Suzanne Bravo of Bass Lake, CA, Robert Palestino and his wife Anna Goncharova of Somerset, NJ and Kevin Palestino and his wife Paula of Stroudsburg, PA; many nieces and nephews including Marisa Palestino and her husband Darren Tighe; and his good friends, Maria Scarangello and Jan Hirsch.

At this time, Anthony’s family has chosen to remember his life privately.
