Barbara M. Alomar

Barbara Alomar of Liberty, NY a pastry chef and a long time area resident died Monday, February 17, 2025 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY. She was 66.

The daughter of the late Hector Alomar and Sensa Rodriguez Alomar, she was born June 5, 1958 in Bronx, NY.

Barbara was a communicant of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Liberty; she enjoyed baking and cooking and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters, Desiree Burges and her husband Cruz of Newburgh, NY and Stephanie Alameda of Liberty, NY; five sons, Billy Foster and his companion Dianni Sambolin of Jeffersonville, NY, Christian Garcia of Liberty, NY, John Vega of Liberty, NY and Alexander Garcia of Liberty, NY; five sisters, Janice, Marie, Sally, Delsa and Geisha Alomar; and six brothers, Peter, Dennis, Virgilio, Hector, Dexter and Juan Alomar. She was predeceased by one son, Joseph Alomar.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10AM to 12 Noon in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will begin at 12 PM in the funeral home. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
