Barbara Homovich

Barbara A. Homovich of Downsville, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at her home. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Thomas A. and Beatrice Crosby Backus, she was born April 23, 1940 in the Town of Tompkins, NY

Barbara was an active member of the Shinhopple Memorial Center; she enjoyed gardening, country music, singing, and dancing. She enjoyed deer hunting and served as Den Mother of the 0&Y Hunting Club.  Barbara will be remembered as a great cook.

Survivors include her daughter,  Sherry Becker and her husband Bob of Downsville, NY; two sons, David Homovich of Downsville, NY, and Donald Homovich of Hamden, NY; one sister, Jean Buchanan and her husband Robert of Masonville, NY; one brother, Ronald Backus of Sidney Center, NY; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Homovich in 2005.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Roscoe, NY.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Roscoe, NY. Father Michael Shank will officiate.

Burial will be in the Paige Cemetery in Downsville, NY.
