Barbara Smith

Barbara Jane Smith of Roscoe, NY, a retired nurse's assistant at the Roscoe Regional Rehab. & RHCF, Roscoe, NY, and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 75.

The daughter of the late Ivan S. and Elizabeth Wright Ackerley, she was born January 21, 1939 in Grahamsville, NY.

Barbara was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star; a former Den Mother for the Roscoe Boy Scouts; she enjoyed crocheting and caring for strays.

Survivors her husband, Larry Smith, at home; two daughters, Laura Bury and her husband Michael of Roscoe, NY and Belinda Smith of Roscoe, NY; two sons, Larry Smith and his wife Jessica of Cape Coral, FL and Derek Smith of Cape Carol, FL; one sister, Mary Nash and her husband Fred of Grahamsville, NY; fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and three grandcats.

Visitation will be Monday, September 29, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be in the Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY.
