Barbara Theresa Watson

Barbara Theresa Watson, formerly of Liberty, NY, passed away peacefully at the Samuel F. Vilas Home in Plattsburgh, NY on Monday, September 30, 2024. She was 80.

The daughter of the late George and Ida Brustman Watson, she was born January 6, 1944 in Liberty, NY. 

Barbara graduated from Liberty High School in 1961 and continued her education at Albany State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She taught American history for 35 years at Wappingers Jr. High School. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Obernburg, NY, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a past member and volunteer of the Jeffersonville Ambulance Corps.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Jenny Winch and son-in-law, Jason, of Wilmington, NY; her granddaughter, Amber Winch; and many cousins from both sides of her family.

Friends may call on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 3-5 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Liberty, NY. The Catholic Daughters of America, Court Mary Anthony #833, will have services at 5 PM in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 7 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernburg, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Obernburg, NY.
