Beatrice Martin

Beatrice P. Martin of Liberty, NY, a retired housekeeping aide for Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY and a long time area resident died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. She was 88.

The daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Victoria Malinoski Phillips, she was born August

9, 1927 in Cold Spring, NY.

Beatrice was a graduate of the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, Class of 1946; a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, Class of 1948 where she earned her Associate's Degree in Early Childcare; she was a 40+ year member of the Swan Lake Fire Department-Ladies Auxiliary; and she was recognized as Volunteer Of The Year for the Sullivan County RSVP, Office of the Aging.

She is survived by three daughters, Margaret Snyder and her husband Paul, Jennifer Suntala, and Barbara J. Martin; one brother, Bernard Phillips; one sister, Alice Sagendorf; four grandchildren, Tabetha Snyder Mead and her husband Christopher, Jessica Ausnehmer, Holly Ausnehmer and Russell Snyder and his wife Heather; four great grandchildren, Piper Mead, Robin Mead, Zachary Snyder and Samantha Gronn; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Philip E. Martin, whom she married on April 9, 1950; one daughter, Deborah L. Martin on October 5, 1991; four brothers, Charles, William, Edward, Jr. and Thomas Phillips; two sisters, Katherine Murphy and Victoria Cardinale.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be in the Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
