Betty J. Hay of Fair Oaks, NY, a retired bus monitor for Quality Bus Company and a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, July 28, 2021 surrounded by her family in Youngsville, NY. She was 77.
The daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Vernol Smedes, she was born September 5, 1943 in Middletown, NY.
Betty had attended the Vine and Branch Church in Liberty, NY. She love to garden and spend time with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelly Green and her companion Lee Bradshaw of Rogersville, TN, Joanne Parker and her husband Jacob of Drums, PA and Dorothy Fiore and her husband James of Youngsville, NY; one brother, Clarence "Eddie" Smedes of Wallkill, NY; two sisters, Joan Henry of Middletown, NY and Anna Mae Yates and her husband Chuck of Sarasota, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, George "Skip" Smedes. She was predeceased by her husband, William Hay.
