Betty Jane Ringgenberg

Betty Jane Ringgenberg of Hortonville, NY a retired Post Master Relief for the United States Postal Service, Hortonville, NY and a life long area resident, died December 13, 2024 at her home. She was 85.

The daughter of the late George L. and Frances Grace Long Buddenhagen, she was born December 10, 1939 in Callicoon, New York.

Betty was a Past President and 30-year member of the VFW Post # 7276 Ladies Auxiliary; she had been the chairman for the VFW National Home for Children and held other positions at the District, County and State Level.

Survivors include her daughters, Lori J. Tyler of Syracuse, NY, Rhonda L. Houghtaling and her husband Bruce of Callicoon, NY and Christine M. Ringgenberg of New Windsor, NY; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Verl Ringgenberg; and her sons, David A. Ringgenberg and Roger L. Ringgenberg. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 10 AM in the Presbyterian Church of Hortonville, NY. Pastor Shannon Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, NY. Repass will follow at Hortonville Volunteer Fire Department.
