Betty Mears

Betty I. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY a retired cafeteria worker at the Livingston Manor Central School and a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 83.

The daughter of the late Floyd and Alice Lake Gransbury, she was born December 31, 1927 in Cadosia, NY.

Betty was a member of the Livingston Manor Senior Citizens; a former Den Mother for Troop #105; a former member of the Monday night Ladies Bowling League at Liberty Lanes where she served as the secretary; and a former member of the Friday night Mix Bowling League at Liberty Lanes. She enjoyed crafts and nature.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth R. Mears, whom she married on March 27, 1952, at home; one son, Allan B. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY; one daughter, Linda A. Mears of Livingston Manor, NY; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Livingston Manor Senior Citizens will conduct services on Wednesday at 3 PM in the funeral home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Cicio will officiate.

Burial will be in the Cooks Falls Cemetery, Cooks Falls, NY.
