Carl Ackerley

Carl M. Ackerley of Roscoe, NY, a retired stone cutter and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at his home. He was 88.

The son of the late Bruce and Marjorie DeWitt Ackerley, he was born November 14, 1925 in Livingston Manor, NY.

Carl had worked as a logger for many years before becoming a bluestone cutter. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Ackerley of Roscoe, NY; one daughter, Sharon Ross of Pensacola, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Thelma; a son, Jack; a grandson Steven; and his daughter-in-law JoAnn.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Burial will be in the Beaverkill Cemetery, Beaverkill, NY.
