Carmela Carvelli

Carmela “Mel” Carvelli of Fremont, NY a long time area resident, died Monday, December 23, 2024 at Forest City Nursing Home in PA. She was 97.

The daughter of the late Dominick and Raffalina Federico’ Ventiere, she was born October 23, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY.

Carmela had worked for 13 years as a Secretary at Delaware Valley Central School District. She enjoyed volunteering at the Jeffersonville Library and traveling with her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters Emilia DeMaio and her husband Michael and Melanie Carvelli and husband David Philpot; and one grandson, Anthony Corigliano and his wife JoAnna. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Carvelli in 1976; and two brothers, Michael Ventiere and James Ventiere.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 12 Noon in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Obernburg, NY. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
