Celia Neff

Celia B. Neff of Downsville, NY a retired employee at Bard Parker, Hancock, NY and a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the home of her daughter in East Branch, NY. She was 73.

The daughter of the late Maxwell and Joyce Edwards Babcock, she was born May 1, 1937 in Horton Brook, NY.

Celia grew up in Horton Brook, graduated from Roscoe Central School and Albany Business College; she was employed for 23 years at Bard Parker; she was a member of the Colchester Community Church for 50 years and a member of the Downsville Willowemoc Chapter of Eastern Star for 45 years. She enjoyed reading and traveling; Celia traveled extensively in the United States and Europe.

Survivors include three daughters, Jo Anne Keesler and her husband Kevin of East Branch, NY, Cheryl Warfield and her husband Gary of East Branch, NY, and Pamela Horner and her friend Jimmy of Clifton Park, NY; one son, John C. Neff, Jr. of Colchester, NY; her grandchildren, Crystal O'Dell and her husband Matt, Jessica Warfield, Gary Warfield, James Horner, David Horner, Christopher Keesler, and Trista Keesler; her great grandchildren, Madison O'Dell, Skyler O'Dell, Elijah O'Dell, and Zakary Keesler; one sister, Kay Kaufman and her husband Dick of Downsville, NY; two sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Vernold and Ruth Ann Neff; one brother-in-law, Harold Neff; several nieces and nephews; and her loving canine companion, Honey Bear.

She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John C. Neff, who passed away in 1998.

Private graveside services and burial will in Paige Cemetery in Downsville, NY.
