Charles Baker, Jr.

Charles P. Baker, Jr. of Livingston Manor, NY, a retired Correction Officer and lifelong area resident died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was 81.

The son of the late Charles P. Sr., and Susan DeWitt Baker, he was born in Liberty, NY.

Charles proudly served Our Country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He graduated from Youngsville Central School. He is a member, church choir member, and former Deacon of the United Reform Church in Youngsville, a former member of the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545, and former member of the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, gardening, and beekeeping.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Marion J. Olsen Baker at home; one son, Charles E. Baker of Swan Lake, NY; two daughters, Shirley J. Baker of Chazy, NY, and Linda M. Mendenhall and  her husband Jeffrey of Rutland, MA; three sisters, Mary Abplanalp and her husband Lee of Liberty, NY, Kathleen Kelly and her husband Paul of Grahamsville, NY, and Sharon Johnson and her husband Glenn of Washington State; one brother, Neal Baker and his wife Bobbie of VA; one sister-in-law, Joe Anne Baker of Youngsville, NY; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Frederick Baker; and two sisters, Elizabeth Coombs and Sueila Fierro.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral Services will be Friday, June 27, 2018 at 2 PM in the United Reform Church, 3990 State Route 52, Youngsville, NY. The Rev. Fred Diekman will officiate.

Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Youngsville, NY.
