Claus "Pete" J. Bebensee

Claus “Pete” J. Bebensee of White Sulphur Springs, NY a retired New York State Trooper and a long time area resident, died Friday, November 1, 2024 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 82.

The son of the late Karl and Martha Rugne Bebensee, he was born December 14, 1941 in Hamburg, Germany. Claus was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known to many as “the nicest man in the world.”

Survivors include his loving wife, Elaine Rios Bebensee, at home; his children, James, Bruce, Donald and Lisa; and many grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Chumpy.
