Cora Greene

Cora Mae Greene of Liberty, NY a life long area resident, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. She was 94.

The daughter of the late Francis Andrew Hamilton and Grace Laverne Hall she was born June 14, 1923 in Grahamsville, NY.

Cora had a love of fishing and gardening and she enjoyed raising a variety of her exotic and domestic chickens.  She was an honored member of the Rebekah Lodge. She and her late husband Charles A. Greene traveled to many places around the country together. She loved her family always asking about her many beloved relatives throughout the country it was no matter where they were. Iowa, North Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, or anywhere else; she never missed asking about them all. In her later years she could be seen every night online keeping track of them on Facebook. She and her husband Charles Green were active vibrant members of the Grooville Free Methodist Church for many years. Cora loved the Lord and prayed for her family and friends every night, going by a list she kept above her bed with everyone's name on it who needed extra special remembrance.

Cora gave herself by taking care of her mother, her other siblings, and her family and friends all of her life. She put herself through college to achieve a degree in physical therapy and work for many years in the physical therapy department of the Sullivan County Infirmary (SCACC). Everyone loved Cora and she will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Greene of Berwick, PA; sisters-in-law, Jane Hamilton of Ridgeland, MS and Bernice Hamilton of Maybrook, NY; a granddaughter, Andrea Greene of GA and two great grandchildren, Sean and Amy; in addition to her many loving nieces and nephews and their children, Kathryn Hamilton of Walden, NY, Charles "Lee" Hamilton of Fort Bragg CA, Karen Gentile and Vincent of Yonkers, NY, Cindy Topazio of Bristol, RI, Alice Rita of Rosendale, NY, David and Laura Hamilton of Jackson, MS, Gail Woolbright and Mark of Willow Springs, NC, Keith Hamilton and Dea of Raleigh, NC, Dean Hamilton and Valerie of Yadkinville, NC,

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles a Green; and her son Charlie Greene, Jr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 11 AM in the funeral home.  The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
