Daniel Buddenhagen

Daniel D. Buddenhagen of Hortonville, NY, a retired Electrician with IBEW Local #363 and a lifelong area resident passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Garnet Health Hospital - Grover Hermann Division, in Callicoon, NY. He was 80.

The son of the late Herbert F. and Kathleen T. Davenport Buddenhagen, he was born March 22, 1944 in Callicoon, NY.

Daniel was a member of the North Branch United Methodist Church, a 60-year member of the Hortonville Fire Department where he was a Past Chief, Past President and current District Fire Commissioner, and a member of the Tamarack Farm and Deer Club. He was a hard working family man who was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Poley Buddenhagen, at home; two sons, Kurt Buddenhagen (Ashlea) of Hortonville, NY and Matthew Buddenhagen of Middletown, NY; one daughter, Kelly Hendrickson (Darren) of Callicoon, NY; one sister, Virginia Guglielmone of Callicoon, NY; one special son Nathaniel Bradshaw of Hamden, CT; three grandchildren, Olivia and Reece Hendrickson, and Jaymes Buddenhagen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother, Mary Etta Hornicek, Kathleen Moran and Ross Buddenhagen.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 5-8 PM in the Hortonville Fire Station, Hortonville, NY.

Firematic services will be conducted by the Hortonville Fire Department Thursday evening at 7 PM.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11 AM in the fire station. Pastors Ginny Bossley and Shawn Bailey will officiate.

Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC and burial of the cremains will be in the Hortonville Cemetery, Hortonville, NY.
