Darren Steele

Darren Steele of Livingston Manor, NY, a life long area resident, died Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Manhattan, NY. He was 63. 

The son of the late Raymond and Shirley Neer Steele, he was born December 20, 1960 in Liberty, NY.

Darren had worked for SUNY Sullivan in the maintenance department; he loved music and played in his band; he loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his daughters, Nicole Nelson and her husband Mark of Livingston Manor, NY and Allison Steele of Jeffersonville, NY; his fiancée, Barbara O’Rourke of Forestburg, NY and her children, Kathleen O’Rourke and her companion Alex Williamson, Sean O’Rourke and Deanna O’Rourke; his siblings, Duane Steele of Arlington, MA, Debra Kinne and her husband George of Roscoe, NY and Randall Steele of Cooks Falls, NY; one sister-in-law, Kathy Steele of Willowemoc, NY, and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Raymond Steele and Henry Steele.

A Celebration of Darren’s life will be celebrated at a later date.
