David Ginsberg

David Ginsberg of Hurleyville, NY, 62, beloved son, husband, father, brother and uncle passed away peacefully at UPMC in Pittsburgh from tragic complications of pancreatitis.

The son of the late Dorothy and Jack Ginsberg, David was born

in New York City and moved to Sullivan County in 1989. He will be deeply missed by his wife Vivian Multari-Ginsberg, his daughter, Gabriella Rose Ginsberg, who he adored, his sister, Gail Ehrlich, brother, Robert Ginsberg, and niece, Carolyn Pastor, along with many other relatives and friends.

David was an music aficionado and enjoyed live concerts and listening to vinyl records. He was always perfecting his tube-driven stereo and yellow FIAT spider convertible. Aptly, his car license plate read "HIFI".

David's wit, sense of humor and intelligence were just a few of his best qualities. Conversations with him were always stimulating and filled with good jokes. David knew a lot about a lot of things, a little about everything and he could talk about anything.

Dave loved sharing great food and drinks with family and friends and would always enjoy a good cigar.

After completing his BS in electrical engineering, Dave "The Rave" worked for many years as an audio engineer before opening his own business - the Fix-It Shop - 25 years ago. He would go the extra mile to make customers happy, and they often became friends. "Mr. Fix-It" made service calls to repair major home appliances, and so enjoyed what he did that he never considered it work. As an engineer, his goal in life was to always fix the problem.

David was active in our community and various organizations. He was a founding member and past president of Sullivan County Environmental, a card-carrying genius in MENSA and a member of the FIAT club of America.

He was a rare combination of an extroverted geek. He had an inquisitive mind and was always seeking to learn more about the world. He will be sorely missed and though his motto was "We fix most anything...but a broken heart", he never said anything about breaking them.
