David Vankeuren

David E. VanKeuren of Livingston Manor, NY, the owner of VanKeuren Tree Service and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home.  He was 74.

The son of the late Ralph A. W. and Marion A. Grant VanKeuren, he was born May 21, 1943 in Monticello, NY.

David proudly served Our Country in the US Army from 1964 to 1967; he was a member of the Church of Nazareth in Rock Hill, NY; a member of the Monticello Elks Lodge # 1544; and a member of the Jackson Hunting Camp in Monticello, NY.

Survivors include his companion, Shirley J. Springer, at home; two daughters, Mary Meyle and her husband Lester of Pine Bush, NY and Lisa Reuss and her husband John of Monticello, NY; one son, Michael D. VanKeuren of Wurtsboro, NY; two sisters, Elinor Cook of Monticello, NY and Gayle Price and her husband David of Monticello, NY; three brothers, Albert VanKeuren and his wife Judy of Trumansburg, NY, Bradley VanKeuren and his wife Vivian of Monticello, NY and Richard VanKeuren and his wife Gerry of Limerick, PA; four grandchildren, Julie, Jessica, Justin and Stacey; one step daughter, Shirley England and her husband Christopher of Spring Glen, NY; one step son, James A. Horton, Jr. of Phillipsport, NY; sister-in-law, Betty Manning and her husband Craig of Chester, NY; brother-in-law, Edward Springer of Pine Bush, NY; and several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren including Riley J. Platt IV and Andrew J. Platt; and step great grandson, Riley J. Platt, V.

Graveside services and burial will be private in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
