Diane Hinton

Diane A. Hinton of Liberty, NY, a retired registered nurse and a longtime area resident died Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at her home. She was 66.

The daughter of Thomasina Braxton Diggs and the late Nostrand Diggs, she was born March 19, 1958 in Queens, NY.

Diane had worked for the Department of Correction in Woodbourne, NY. She was an active traveler and enjoyed vacationing, especially England and France. She enjoyed knitting and reading. She was loved so much by family and friends and will be missed.

Survivors include three sons, John Hinton (Patty), Connor Hinton (Sarah), Michael Hinton (Therese); three daughters, Elizabeth Williams (Carl), Christina Hinton, and Danielle Sanders (Tyrone); nine grandchildren, Katelyn, Noah, Lucille, Penelope, Lyla, Owen, Dwayne, Cece, and Cali; four sisters, Deborah Baker (David), Delores Floyd and companion Leon Anderson, Dorenda Diggs and Ingrid Braxton; two brothers, Nostrand Diggs and George Diggs and his partner Linda Hunstein; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Jeffrey W. Hinton on March 26, 2024.

Visitation will be Friday, August 9, 2024 from 1-3 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.  

Funeral services will be Friday, August 9, 2024 at 3 PM in the funeral home.

Dignified cremation will be provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC.  Burial of cremains will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery Sunset Lake Road, Liberty, NY.
