Dolores "Dee" J. Brzytwa of Roscoe, NY, a lifetime area resident, joined her family and friends in heaven on Thursday, September 24, 2015. She left this world peacefully surrounded by family and friends. She was 75 years old.
Dee was born on Fox Mountain in Parksville, NY on July 2nd 1940. She was the oldest of seven children.
Dee was predeceased by her parents Herman and Ruth Benton, her siblings Shirley Benton, Anya Ann Hubbell, Jim Benton and Dawn Decker, her sons Dai Dutcher and Tony Brzytwa and one granddaughter Hannah Smith.
She is survived by her sisters, Leona Benton and Marie Watson; her son, Dale Dutcher and his wife Angela; her daughter, Amie Smith and her husband Dan; granddaughters, Sky and Eryn Dutcher and Emma Smith; her husband, Walter Brzytwa; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a farmer and running Dee's Sweet Corn Stand since 1974, Dee lived a full life of selflessness, having donated to many charities including the ASPCA, St Jude, and The Ronald McDonald House. She also created several scholarship funds to keep family and friends' memories alive in the community and volunteered for many years at the Roscoe Food Pantry. Throughout the years Dee opened up her heart and home to many kids who needed a safe place to "land" she taught them about life, the meaning of hard work, loyalty and trust.
She will be remembered for her love of all things living, generosity, heart of gold and she will forever live on in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 6 to 9 pm in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave, Roscoe NY.
