Donamarie Leconey

Donamarie B. LeConey of Monticello, NY, a retired Elementary School Librarian for the Monticello Central School District and a longtime area resident died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Garnet Health Center, Harris, NY.  She was 71.

The daughter of the late John and Mildred Scaramuzzo Abramshe, she was born January 16, 1950 in Staten Island, NY. Dona also worked at the Monticello Cinema for many years.  She loved animals and was a supporter of Rocky's Refuge, an animal rescue and sanctuary.

She is survived by her two sons, Jason LeConey and his spouse Kim of Brooklyn, NY and Joshua LeConey and his spouse Kris Kidwell of Denver, CO; her former husband Joseph “Bud” LeConey; her brother, John Abramshe, Jr. and his spouse Margaret of St. George, Utah, and their two children, her niece Jana and nephew Jonivan Abramshe, as well as two other nieces; Samantha Shapiro and Rosanna Lashinsky Brown. She was predeceased by a sister, Roseanne Abramshe. Dona will always be loved and treasured by her family and those who knew her.

Due to the current health crisis, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
