Dorothy Zane

Dorothy P. Zane of Roscoe, NY, a homemaker and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 the Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. She was 96.

The daughter of the late Henry and Frances Rouff Pless, she was born September 19, 1916 in White Lake, NY.

Dorothy was a member of the United Church of Roscoe, Roscoe, NY; a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rockland Hose Company #1; a former member of the Roscoe-Rockland Garden Club; and a former member of the Roscoe NY O&W Railway Association; she enjoyed painting and gardening.

Survivors include one son, Richard Zane and his wife Carol of Endicott, NY; one daughter, Susie Walters of Toms River, NJ; one sister, Ruth Pomeroy of Roscoe, NY; one brother, Robert Pless of Monticello, NY; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Zane in 1980; one sister, Mildred Vogeney; one brother, Charles Pless; and three grandchildren, Charles Zane, Michael Walters, and Russell Walters.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Joanne Utley will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
