Douglas Doty

Douglas M. Doty of Swan Lake, NY, a lifelong area resident, died March 14th, 2018 in Tampa, FL. He was 41.

The son of Donald Doty and Sally Trautlein Joyce, he was born June 29, 1976 in Port Jervis, NY.

Douglas proudly served Our Country in the US Army from 1998 to 2002; he was an avid NY Giants Fan, an outdoorsman, and loved cars, especially his ’64 Thunderbird. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Paula Doty and her companion Dylan Bowers of Roscoe, NY; his son, Tannon Doty of North Branch, NY; his fiancée, love of his life, Suzette Bullis of Lake Como, PA; three step daughters, Patricia Peterson-Bullis, of Hancock, NY, Melinda Whitehead and her husband Shane of Windsor, NY, and Andie Rose of Hancock, NY; his father, Donald Doty of Swan Lake, NY; his mother, Sally Joyce and her husband Roy of Port Jervis, NY; three sisters, Karin Steffens and her husband Dale of North Branch, NY, Terri Cron of Salisbury, NC, and Sue Doty of Middletown, NY; five grandchildren, Kailey, Alexa, Riley, Chase and Ella; and five nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his step mother, Rosemary Knack-Doty.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 12 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Richard Hewitt will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery on Tuesday March 27, 2018 at 5 PM.
