Edith J. Peters, 72, of Clermont, FL passed away March 29, 2015 at Vitas Hospice at Quality Healthcare in Winter Garden, FL.

Edith was born on December 4, 1942 in Liberty, New York to Eugene Muhlig and Helen Allison Muhlig of Parksville, NY. She graduated as Valedictorian receiving her Associates Degree from Albany Business College. She was united in marriage to Andrew T. Peters of Callicoon Center, NY on October 26, 1963 and shared 44 years of happiness together. He preceded her in death on August 24, 2007.

Edie was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Clermont. She also enjoyed volunteering at South Lake Hospital and active member of the Hummingbird Circle of Clermont Garden Club. She and her husband Andy had also been enthusiastic square dancers during their time in the Clermont area.

She is survived by her sister Mary L. Muhlig of Roscoe, New York. Edith is also survived by a son Brian J. Peters, daughter-in-law Marlyn and grandson Johnathan of White Sulphur Springs, New York, a daughter Sandra L. Porta, son-in-law David and granddaughter Emily of Ocoee, Florida

Edie touched countless peoples' lives with her thoughtfulness, kindness and compassion and will be dearly missed by many close friends and family members.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 9-10 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West. St at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Graveside services and burial will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Memorial contributions in Edith's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 121 Executive Drive, New Windsor, NY 12553.
