Edmund C. Schimek of Roscoe, NY, a retired housing manager for Chas. H. Greenthal Co. in Long Island and a long time area resident, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at his home. He was 94.
The son of the late Edward and Lottie Williamson Schimek, he was born October 28, 1918 in New York City.
Edmund proudly served Our Country in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater; he enjoyed painting and writing.
Survivors include three daughters, Marianne Zozarro of Orangeburg, NY, Alicia Krivit of Roscoe, NY and Greta Salzberg and her husband Dr. Paul D. Salzberg of Lake Huntington, NY; one son, John Carter; a son-in-law, Gary Krivit of Roscoe, NY; five grandchildren, Vanessa Romano and her husband Gus, David Krivit and his wife Melissa, Gavin Salzberg, Holly Salzberg, and Molly Krivit; his great grandchildren, Alexa, Gus Jr., Brielle, Evelyn Alice, and Jeanette; one niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice R. Schimek on June 18, 2010.
Visitation will be Thursday (today), August 29, 2013 7-9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Graveside services and burial will be Friday, August 30, 2013 at 2:30 PM in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Heart Association P. O. Box 628, Monticello, NY. 12710.
