Edward Cahill

Edward C. Cahill of Liberty, NY a retiree from the New York State Division For Youth, and longtime area resident died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Westchester Medical Center In Valhalla, NY. He was 76.

The son of the late Charles Cahill and Eleanor Sheedy Cahill, he was born October 8,1938 in Elizabeth NJ.

Edward proudly served our country in the US Army from 1958-1964 and he attended the Liberty United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Volkssport Association and enjoyed walking the grounds of West Point.

His lifetime avocation was the search for knowledge through books, and personal exploration of people. He found great solace and joy with family pets, in his garden, and watching nature's creatures.

He leaves behind his wife, Lucinda Lee; one daughter, Rebekah Gulley and her husband Sean of Liberty, NY; and three granddaughters, Kaelyn, Adele, and Fiona.

Visitation will be Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 5PM to 7PM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty NY.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 7PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, NY when weather permits.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's name to the American Cancer Society, or the Liberty United Methodist Church.
