Edward Nietzel

Edward J. Nietzel of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired self-employed contractor and a long time area resident, died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 71.

The son of the late Ernest and Eva Schwarz Nietzel, he was born July 24, 1944 in Bronx, NY.

Edward proudly served Our Country in the US Army from 1965 to 1967; his family was his life; he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he was an avid stock car fan.

Survivors include his wife, Linda C. Kleingardner Nietzel, at home; one daughter, Tracy Nietzel of KY; three sons, Edward Nietzel and his wife Sabrina of TN, Eugene Nietzel of White Sulphur Springs, NY, and Troy Nietzel and his wife Samantha of White Sulphur Springs, NY; two sisters, Eleanor Hoffman of Fremont, NY and Elizabeth Mott and her husband Robert of NC; two brothers, Ernest Nietzel of Woodbourne, NY and Earle Nietzel and his wife Ellen of Rock Hill, NY; thirteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.
