Elaine L. Lotz of Livingston Manor, NY a long time area resident died Thursday, February 13, 2014 at home. She was 61.
The daughter of Ruth Bernstein and the late Bernard Bernstein, she was born July 5, 1952 in Hackensack, NJ.
Elaine was a 1970 graduate of Liberty High School; she worked as a counselor at WIC for 14 years; she was a substitute teacher at Livingston Manor Central School and a leader in the school's Book Fair Program for the past 30 years; she served on the Livingston Manor Central School Board of Education for many years; and also enjoyed working at the Beaverkill Inn. Elaine loved quilting, crafting, and crocheting; she was a member and a past president of the Calico Geese Quilting Club and a member of the Wiltwyck Quilt Guild.
Some of Elaine's favorite times were spent with her family at the Delaware County Fair. She was an avid yardsaler and loved finding treasure with her daughters at thrift shops. Drinking a cup of coffee and watching General Hospital was also a love of hers. She was loved by all of her family and friends and opened her arms to all she met.
Survivors include her husband, Georg Lotz; her mother, Ruth Bernstein; three daughters, Katie Gould and her husband Chris, Renee Lotz, and JoAnna Lotz; one son, Joseph Lotz; three grandchildren, Aiden, Alec, and Gabriel; and one brother, Louie Bernstein and his wife Carol.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 12 noon - 2 pm in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2 pm in the funeral home.
Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
