Eleanor Goldsmith

Eleanor I. Goldsmith of White Sulphur Springs, NY, a retired cashier from Eddie's Market in Jeffersonville, NY, and a long time area resident, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 78.

The daughter of the late Harold and Irene Axtell Mallery, she was born July 14, 1937 in Deposit, NY.

Eleanor was kind hearted and always took a positive approach to life; she helped others before herself. She loved her flowers, gardening, and the outdoors. Her family was very important to her especially her children and grandchildren. She was president of White Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Goldsmith, at home; two daughters, Paula Clark and her husband Bill of White Sulphur Springs, NY, and Mary Lee Murakami and her husband Shintaroh of Japan; two sons, James R. Goldsmith of White Sulphur Springs, NY, and Carl A. Goldsmith and his companion Rose Marie Chan of Kuwait; five grandchildren, Christopher Goldsmith, Stephen Clark, Erica Clark, Riona Murakami and Miach Murakami; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 AM in the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, Route 52, White Sulphur Springs, NY. Mr. James Buck will officiate.

Burial will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, NY.
