Elizabeth Flynn

Elizabeth Marie Flynn, 93, of Liberty, NY, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Presbyterian Home. Elizabeth was born on January 3, 1921, in Newark, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Regina (Freibott) Bien.

On April 26, 1952, she was married to Joseph T. Flynn of Phillipsburg, NJ, who predeceased her in 1973. Elizabeth was the Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Liberty Central High School for many years. She was a member of St. Peter's Church in Liberty, the Altar Rosary Society, the Catholic Daughters of America, and also worked at the Liberty Public Library.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Joseph T. Flynn, Jr., and his partner, Mark Nowlan, Seattle, WA, and Christopher J. Flynn and his wife, Alice, Deerfield, NY; a twin brother, Edward Bien, NJ; her grandsons, Christopher Jr. and Kevin; and several nieces, and nephews.

Elizabeth was predeceased by three sisters, Marie and Margaret Bien and Regina Kennedy, and three brothers, Joseph, Alphonse and Herman Bien.

Visitation will be Sunday September 21, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home and 11:45 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, 264 N. Main St., Liberty.
