Enrique Serrano Gonzalez

Enrique Serrano Gonzalez of Liberty, NY a long-time area resident, died Friday, November 15, 2024 at his home. He was 76.

The son of the late Angel and Josefina Serrano Gonzalez, he was born May 13, 1948 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico.

Enrique was a hard-working man; he moved to the mainland of the US in 1966 and worked at various locations throughout Sullivan County. He worked at Grossinger’s, The Grand Plaza formerly the Brown’s Hotel, the Stevensville and most recently at the Swan Lake Adult Home. Enrique spent 20 years working at Katz’s Bakery in Liberty, NY. He knew many people and touches so many lives and he will be missed by all who knew him. Enrique’s favorite pastime was cooking and baking. He dedicated as much time as he could to his family; especially his beloved grandson, Amare.

Survivors include his sons, Nathaniel Serrano, Angel Serrano, Angel Perez and Jose Molina; his daughters, Erika, Melinda and Jennifer; his grandson, Amare Serrano and many others; his brothers, Fransi, Mando, Wicha and Juan; and his sisters, Monserrate, Evelyn Saida, Aurora, Genobeba, Adia and Alicia.

He is predeceased by his brothers Junior, Manuel, Diego, Anibal, Mon Carlos and his sister, Maria Casanova.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 10 AM to 11:45 AM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 12 Noon in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Liberty, NY. Father Edward Bader will officiate.

Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
