Ethel Philo

Ethel L. Philo of Roscoe, NY, a homemaker and a long time area resident, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Roscoe Regional Rehabilitation and Residential Health Care Facility, Roscoe, NY. She was 89.

The daughter of the late Lester Alfred and Olive Myrtle Edwards Finkle, she was born April 10, 1922 in Old Morston, NY.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Viele and her husband Arthur of Liberty, NY, Betty Dunn of Roscoe, NY, Evelyn Carr of Middletown, NY, and Ellen Bush of Roscoe, NY; seventeen grandchildren, Donald Viele, Helen L. Williams, Thomas Davenport, Jr., David Davenport, Tanya Denniger, Jennifer Davenport, Caroline Davenport, Jessica Davenport, Deborah Melvin, Connie Minckler, Daniel Faulkner, Paul Roberts, Lisa Roberts, Kimberly Carr, Warren Carr, Jr., David Bush, and Brian Bush; one daughter-in-law, Marion Davenport; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Theron Donald Davenport and her second husband, Azor Philo; her son, Thomas Davenport, Sr., two sisters, Grace Finkle and Evelyn Daubek.

Funeral services will be Monday August 22, 2011 at 11AM in the funeral home. The Rev. David Collins will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Roscoe, NY.
