Everett L. Dexter of Kauneonga Lake, NY, a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Achieve Rehab. and Nursing Facility, Liberty, NY. He was 86.
The son of the late Irving and Pearl Keesler Dexter, he was born August 30, 1935 in Cochecton, NY.
Everett had been the owner of White Lake Docks in White Lake, NY; he was a longtime member and Past Chief of the Kauneonga Lake Fire Department; a member of the Bethel Lions Club; he also helped establish the Monticello Lions Club; he had also retired as a truck driver for Gasko Myers in Lake Huntington. Everett enjoyed doing picture puzzles.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Virginia C. Huggins Dexter, at home; three sons, Timothy John Dexter and his partner Rita Sheehan of Kauneonga Lake, NY, Neil Eric Dexter and his wife Excel of Jacksonville, NC, and Jeffrey Todd Dexter and his partner Jamie Jenuzi of Kauneonga Lake, NY; two grandchildren Elizabeth Joy Dexter and her partner Bryan Poley and Matthew Louis Dexter and his partner Ellie Kyprianou; and two great grandchildren, Ayden Sinceno and Piper Lou Poley; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Funeral services will begin at 1 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Minton will officiate.
Burial will be in the Fosterdale Cemetery, Fosterdale, NY.
Memorial contributions in Everett’s name may be made to the Kauneonga Lake Community United Methodist Church, 58 Horseshoe Lake Road, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749; the Kauneonga Lake Fire Department, PO Box 411, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12749; or to a charity of one’s choice.
