Florence Johnson

Florence E. Johnson of Roscoe, NY, a retired registered nurse and longtime area resident, died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Albert Charles and Ethel Dutfield Goodwin, she was born September 18, 1937 in New York City, NY.

Florence was a graduate of St. John's University and of Queens College of Nursing; she had worked for various healthcare facilities in Sullivan and Delaware Counties; she was a member of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church; a former member of the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Ambulance Corp.; she was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include one daughter, Laura Porter of Sherburne, NY; one son, Lawrence Johnson of Roscoe, NY; one sister, Gladys DeMarco of CA; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Porter and Skylar Amari.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence E. Johnson in 1983.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1 PM in the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, Old Rte. 17, Roscoe, NY. The Rev. Pam Allen will officiate.
