Frank Finn

Frank G. Finn of Liberty, NY, a retired construction foreman for Local # 17, Newburgh, NY, and a lifelong area resident, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at his home. He was 89.

The son of the late M. Henry and Mabel Hall Finn, he was born October 29, 1922 in Liberty, NY.

Frank was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Liberty, NY; he was an active member of the Liberty Elks Lodge # 1545; a member of the Clarence Hoyt VFW Post # 9217 in Liberty, NY; a member of the Russell Sprague American Legion Post # 109 in Liberty, NY; and a member of the Ftr. Cronin Council # 4768 Knights of Columbus in Liberty, NY.

Survivors include his wife, Georgine "Gene" Doherty Finn, at home; two daughters, Katherine Menges and her husband Robert of Jeffersonville, NY, and Marianne Sternkopf and her husband Richard of Washingtonville, NY; two sons, Frank G. Finn, Jr. and his wife Kristine of Jeffersonville, NY, and James T. Finn and his wife Joy of Kenoza Lake, NY; six grandchildren, Amy Goodstein, Brian Goodstein and his wife Danielle, Ricky Sternkopf, Dan Sternkopf, Jimmy Finn, and Erin Finn; one great grandson, Evan Goodstein; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Sullivan County Public Health Nurses, to Monsignor Edward Straub, and to Dr. David Schwalb for their care and support during Frank's illness.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Clarence Hoyt VFW Post #9217 will conduct Veteran's Services at 7 PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home.

Liberty Elks Lodge # 1545 will conduct services at 7:15 PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home;

The Father Cronin Council #4768 Knights of Columbus will conduct services at 7:30 PM Wednesday evening in the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:45 AM in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY.

Burial with military honors will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Cold Spring Road, Liberty, NY.

Memorial contributions in Frank's name may be made to St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY.
