Frederick Wilkes Goetschius of Roscoe, NY, a retired truck driver for Queen’s Farms in Deposit, NY and a lifelong area resident died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Delhi, NY. He was 88.
The son of the late Merlin and Lottie Merrill Goetschius, he was born July 25, 1930 in the Town of Colchester, NY.
Fred proudly served Our Country in the US Maries and he was a member of the Floyd Keener Post #315 in Roscoe, NY. He loved hunting and fishing. Fred had worked for L.P. Transport in Chester, NY and then worked for Johnson and Rhodes Bluestone in East Branch, NY.
Survivors include his wife, June Goetschius, at home; two step sons, David Hall and his wife Christine of Deposit, NY and Walter Hall, Jr. and his wife Kerry of Windermere, FL; one step daughter, Carrie Norful and her husband William of Winooski, VT; five grandchildren, Cooper, Colby, Davis, Andrew and Christopher; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, John Goetschius, Georgianna Bowers, and Antoinette Oestrich.
Services and burial will be at a later date at the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
