Frederick Polley

Frederick C. Polley of Roscoe, NY, a retired police officer for Nassau County Police Department and a long time area resident, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 74.

The son of the late Charles L. and Maryellen Burke Polley, he was born February 21, 1942 in Oceanside, NY.

Fred was a member of the Retired Policeman's Benevolent Association; a member of the Roosevelt Rod and Gun Club; a member of the NRA; and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Ruth Handler and her husband Dr. Lawrence Handler of Yorktown Heights, NY, and Teresa Gilmore of Chesapeake of VA; one niece,Denise Polley Feremi; two nephews, Charles Polley and Christopher Polley; and three grandchildren, John J. White, Jr., Steven M. White, and Joseph F. Gilmore.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia Ann Polley on March 30, 2016; and one brother, Daniel Polley.

Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Pastor Edward Sostak will officiate.

Memorial contributions in Fred's name may be made to the Roscoe-Rockland Volunteer Ambulance Corp. PO Box 321, Roscoe, NY 12776.

Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Roscoe, NY.
