Georg Lotz

Georg Lotz of Livingston Manor, NY a retired auto mechanic at the Deckertown Garage and a long time area resident, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY.  He was 71.

The son of the late Peter and Katharina Zimmer Lotz, he was born October 20, 1952 in Austria.

Georg was a former member of the Livingston Manor Fire Department; he worked for many years as a custodian at the Roscoe Central School after he retired as an auto mechanic at the Deckertown Garage.

Survivors include his son, Joseph Lotz and his wife Melissa of Liberty, NY; three daughters, Katharina Lotz of Scranton, PA, Renee Lotz and her companion David Irwin of Livingston Manor, NY and JoAnna Lotz of Livingston Manor, NY; one sister, Anna McCune and her husband Bob of PA; two brothers, Stefan Lotz and his wife Leslie of NC and Walter Lotz of NC; four grandchildren, Austin, Aiden, Alec and Gabriel; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Elaine Bernstein Lotz on February 13, 2014.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 12 Noon to 2 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, Railroad Ave. Roscoe, NY.  Firematic services will be conducted by the Livingston Manor Volunteer Fire Compnay at 2 PM; Funeral services will follow in the funeral home.  Father Antony David will officiate.  Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
