George H. Fredericks of Roscoe New York died on February 27, 2022 at the age of 81.
He was the son of Henry and Frances Fredericks and was born March 4, 1940 in Queens New York.
Throughout his life George was passionate about his pursuits, ranging from CB radios, Opera, gourmet cooking, and Jazz. He was an avid fisherman, and was very involved in the flyfishing community and belonged to several flyfishing clubs including American Fishing Assoc. and was a founding member of Trout Unlimited. George fought for flyfishing causes and was instrumental in helping to save to the Beaverkill. He was honored for those efforts. He also received a lifetime achievement award from Trout Unlimited for his dedication and timeless effort.
George lived the later part of his life in Roscoe, Trout town America, where he had always wanted to live. George had a big white beard and a jovial disposition. He was very outgoing and his presence and stories left a smile on those he met. He will be missed by many, specially those who knew him as Santa.
He is survived by his brother Gene Fredericks, and three nieces, Kelly Wirtz, Jessica Fredericks and Susan Fredericks, and one nephew, David Ratciliffe, and several cousins.
He was preceded by three sisters, Rita Ann Ratcliffe, Frances Fredericks Green and Mary Elizabeth Fredericks.
George's family has chosen to remember him privately at this moment.
