George Nichols, Jr

George G. Nichols, Jr. of Liberty, NY, formerly of Nashville, TN, a master carpenter, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at his home. He was 60.

The son of the late George Sr. and Pearl VanGorden Nichols, he was born December 14, 1953 in Callicoon, NY.

George proudly served Our Country in the US Maine Corp. from 1972-1975; he enjoyed spending time with his family, farming and woodworking.

Survivors include his three sons, George Nichols, III of Liberty, NY, Jack Nichols of Nashville, TN, and Andrew Nichols of West Virginia; two brothers, Gary Nichols and his wife Reva of Nashville, TN and Thomas Nichols of Liberty, NY; one sister, Patricia Grant and her husband Robert of Liberty, NY; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend Kathy Currey.

He was predeceased by one brother, Timothy Nichols; and by his parents, George Sr. and Pearl VanGorden Nichols.

Visitation will be Monday, July 21, 2014 from 9-11 AM in the Harris Funeral Home West Street at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Reverend Bridgette LeConey will officiate.

Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veteran's Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd., Liberty, NY.
