Gerald Jock

Gerald Francis Jock of Fort Covington, NY, a lifelong area resident died Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, NY. He was 89.

The son of the late George and Martha Walsh Reardon Jock, he was born April 2, 1926 in Bombay, NY.

Gerald attended Bombay High School; he had worked at Alcoa, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and through the building of Salmon River Central School; dairy farming completed his working years until retirement. He was a communicant of St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Bombay and was instrumental in remodeling the interior of the church during the early 70's. He was a Charter Member of the Bombay Fire Department; past member of the Fort Covington Fire Department; a Bombay Agway committee man for years; and a former member of the Moose Club. Gerald enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, playing cards, bingo, puzzles, going to the casino and spending time with his family.

In 1947, Gerald was united in marriage to Marjorie M. Cartier Jock who predeceased him in 1987. On December 3rd, 1988 he married Mary D. Drake Harris Jock who survives. He is also survived by his children, Marie (Richard) Keddy, Geraldine Martin, Jerome (Wanda) Jock, Marilyn (David) Tarbell, Marlea (Thomas) Chatland ; one sister, Hilda St. Hilaire; stepchildren Debbie (Joel) Spaulding, Elton (Jacqueline) Harris, Colleen Harris, Kayko (Jeffrey) Jarmusz, Mary Sue (Charles) Foster, Julie Harris; 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by brothers Vincent, Charles, Walter, Michael, Thomas, Joseph, Edward and William Reardon; John, Floyd, Leo, Wilfred, Andrew, and Edward Jock and sisters, Stella Barse, Mary Smith, Anne Ghostlaw, Regina Grady, Florence Jock, and Lena Jock.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 22 County Route 4, Bombay, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 22 County Route 4, Bombay, NY.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bombay, NY.
