Gerardo Contreras Garcia

Gerardo Contreras Garcia of Mongaup Valley, New York, passed away Monday, June 19, 2022.  He was 36.

The son of Jose Antonio Cecilio Contreras Xelhua and Maria Angelina Hipolita Garcia Ponce, he was born October 3, 1985 in San Bernardino, Mexico.

Gerardo was a hard-working family man, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  He enjoyed cooking and he was a great chef.

Survivors include his parents Jose Antonio Cecilio Contreras Xelhua and Maria Angelina Hipolita Garcia Ponce of Mexico; his wife, Berenice Leon Leon, at home; his children, Adamaris Navarro, Emmanuel Leon, and Jatziry Contreras; his siblings, Javier, Nicolas, Claudia, and Leticia; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Guadalope and Facundo Leon.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11 AM in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 264 No. Main Street, Liberty, NY.  Father Edward Bader will officiate.
