Gloria Wheeler

Gloria J. Wheeler of the Town of Colchester, NY, a homemaker and a former secretary, died Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton, NY. She was 89.

The daughter of the late Clarence and Molly Mc Laughlin Madison, she was born December 28, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY.

Gloria had been an area resident for over 25 years; she was a member of the Downsville Senior Citizens; and a member of the Downsville Women's Club.

Survivors include one son, Robert C. Wheeler, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Shrub Oak, NY; one daughter, Barbara Wheeler of Lantana, FL; three grandchildren, Amy, Matthew, and Michael; one great grandchild, Hannah; two brothers-in-law, James Wheeler and his wife Grace of Roscoe, NY; and Douglass Wheeler of Roscoe, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Wheeler in 2002; a brother, Robert; and a sister, June.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 12 Noon to 2PM in the Harris Funeral Home Railroad Ave., Roscoe, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 2PM in the funeral home. The Rev. R. L. Donahue will officiate.

Private burial will be in the spring in Paige Cemetery in Downsville, NY.
