Harley E. McCosco of Liberty, NY, a retired Police Officer for the Village of Liberty, and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at his home. He was 75.
The son of the late Charles and Alice McCombs McCosco, he was born March 23, 1946 in Ellenville, NY.
Harley proudly served Our Country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and had worked for the Village of Liberty Police Department for 32 years. In addition to serving as a police officer, he owned and operated his farm and worked for Woodbourne Lawn and Garden for many years. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, snowmobiling and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie L. Lawrence McCosco, at home; one daughter, Lori McCosco; two sons, Darrin McCosco and Landon McCosco and his companion Dee, all of Liberty, NY; his grandchildren, Mya, Meadow, Sara, Chelsea and Luke; two brothers, Clifford McCosco of Rome, NY and Richard McCosco of VA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Darrell McCosco.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be at 4 PM in the funeral home. The Rev. Johanna Andritz will officiate.
Burial with military honors will follow at the Sullivan County Veteran’s Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
